Nurturing Emotional Intelligence, One Activity at a Time

June 06, 20242 min read

Wow, get ready for a fantastic book that will be a game-changer for kids’ emotional wellbeing! The “Emotional Regulation and Wellbeing Workbook: Social Emotional Learning for Kids” by Catherine Stephenson, Jenny Stephenson, and illustrator Hiruni Kariyawasam is an absolute gem! This little workbook, part of a fantastic series of 9 books from Wooden House Books, is designed specifically for children aged 6-9 years old, and it’s packed with fun, age-appropriate activities that will get the conversation about emotions flowing.

I recently went through the workbook and found it to be a real treasure. As a grandmother of young children, I can’t wait to sit down and go through some of the activities with them. It’s the perfect tool for parents, caregivers, and teachers to implement.

Being a kid is tough, and learning to identify, react appropriately, and deal with emotions is so very important! Gosh, I wish I’d had something like this at my disposal when I was raising my children and when I was a kid.

Here’s the thing: kids have a lot of feelings. Like, a LOT. And sometimes, those feelings can be confusing and overwhelming. That’s why it’s so awesome that tools like this emotional well-being workbook are out there.

Tools like this help kids feel heard and valued. It’s a safe way for children to explore their emotions and feel validated.

Plus, when kids understand their feelings are important, they also develop greater empathy for others. It’s a win-win situation.

I can’t recommend this workbook enough, especially if you’re looking for a resource to help your little ones develop essential social-emotional skills. Plus, it’s available in paperback and ebook formats, so you can choose whichever works best for your family.

The workbook goes through the alphabet, and each letter packs a punch of wisdom and practical advice. There are coloring pages and illustrations that are super cute. The questions are easy to understand and will get your little one’s gears turning. There are relaxation and visualization techniques and so much more!

I give this book a 5 out of 5. So, consider this workbook if you are searching for something valuable and fun to do with your children. It’s available on Amazon.

Happy Reading
