Growing up, I was a shy and introverted child. I found solace in books and reading, which allowed me to escape from the trauma of losing my father and my issues with low self esteem. Books gave me an opportunity to explore the world without leaving my bedroom, and it was through this exploration that I discovered my passion for writing.

As a young girl I was constantly creating rhymes and poems in my head. I dreamed of being an author, but I was too fearful of rejection and ridicule to pursue my passion. Despite this fear, I kept writing. I wrote short stories, half finished books, and poems that I promptly hid away.

The years moved on and I focused on raising a family, while also struggling to move forward from past traumas, feelings of depression and low self-esteem. It was a long ardeous journey.

Then my family was thrown into turmoil when my youngest started self-harming, acting out, running away, and getting into trouble. I felt completely alone and powerless to help her.
